It was more than a month ago, I think, that the Pew Research Center released the results of a survey given to Americans about their knowledge of the world's various religions. Well, I think most people realize that the average American doesn't know jack about the rest of the world (heck, sometimes they can't even identify their own country on a world map!). So, it was no surprise when the survey said that Americans could correctly answer only half of the questions about other religions. The University of Georgia's student newspaper today published a story about the survey. In it they talked with one of their own professors about what the survey and American's knowledge (or lack thereof) really means.
Sandy Martin, University professor and head of the religion department, says: “Someone who gets the answer wrong is not totally ignorant of that religion.” True, but when the loudest message that you hear from some religious groups is "Give yourself to Christ or go to hell!" then you don't exactly have a sense there is a great fount of knowledge going on there. One important statement to come from the Pew study is that Atheists, Jews, and Mormons generally answered the most questions correctly. Yes, Atheists, who believe there is no form of higher power, no God or gods, are one of the few groups to correct answer questions about various religions correctly. The popular reasoning is that Atheists have taken time to examine multiple religions before coming to their decision in regards to faith. As a result, they know more about a variety of religions than other groups who are focused only on their own.
I would like to think that Matrixists would score highly on the test. While we attempt to follow the principles of at least one of the world's religions we encourage the practice of the best principles of multiple religions. We accept that there may not be one perfect solution. As I stated in the explanation of our tenets: All of the worlds religions have aspects that are valuable and can lead to living a healthy life. Matrixism recognizes this in other religions and chooses to embrace the positive aspects of those we share this world with.
Curious how you'd fair on the religion test? Pew has a 15-question version of their study available for you to take. Want to know how I did? I answered 13 out of 15 questions correctly (though a couple others were purely a guess). Go give it a whirl, then come back and let us know how you did.

I got 12 out of 15 for 80%.
I got 12 out of 15 for 80%. There were maybe 5 questions I had to guess on. I knew the Joseph Smith question because of South Park. :)
Religions are a form of control!
It`s not about inside or outside... it`s about knowing!
Control
Knwing what? What do you think you know, pray tell?
At their fundamental levels, all religions teach the same things. You realize this?
You want to know what control is all about? Your Ego....to which you under subjectivity to.
Ego is related to the organic aspect...and related to the survival instinct of this organic. This is evident in all of the organic realms, not just humanity. And, in the "Construct" of time, and space. It's not about "Religion", it is about this material, this carnal in which you find yourself. But, do you know you are more and other than, "this"? That the greater reality, the Truth, is apart from this, "Construct", and, "Matrix"? Want proof?
